Statements regarding Mainnet functionality and integrations are forward-looking, subject to technical readiness, and may change without prior notice. As an OP Stack L2, Whitechain inherits Ethereum’s security guarantees while reducing transaction costs and latency for both end users and developers. This technical architecture relies on underlying Ethereum consensus mechanics. Whitechain does not provide warranties or speak on behalf of Ethereum. It does not guarantee absolute immunity from smart contract, sequencer, or network-level failure risks. The chain maintains full EVM compatibility, so any contract or toolchain that works on Ethereum works on Whitechain without modification. Key technical details for developers:
  • 1-second block time.
  • Flashblocks are not enabled yet: the preconfirmation stream is prepared but not live, and the confirmation stages do not depend on it. See Transaction finality.
  • A plain WBT transfer costs about 0.000105 WBT to execute at the 5 gwei base fee floor, plus the L1 data fee. That is well under one cent based on a purely hypothetical reference price of $50 per WBT. See Network fees. Fee estimates and token price references are illustrative only and subject to dynamic market and gas conditions.
  • Fees paid in WBT, the native asset of Whitechain with utility across the WhiteBIT ecosystem.
  • The L2 architecture nets sequencer margins against Ethereum blob costs, keeping fees structurally low at scale.

What makes Whitechain different

Whitechain is part of the broader WhiteBIT ecosystem. That alignment unlocks four things uncommon among Layer 2s:
  • Ecosystem review pathway. Projects deploying on Whitechain may apply for independent review by ecosystem partners, including WhiteBIT Platform. Any exchange listing, trading pair integration, or joint marketing remains subject strictly to independent corporate, legal, regulatory, and AML/KYC evaluation by the respective Platform operator. Protocol deployment provides no express or implied guarantee of exchange listing.
  • The gas token is the exchange token. WBT is used to pay fees on Whitechain and to access utility on WhiteBIT. A single asset carries two demand loops, which strengthens the economic case for projects denominated in WBT. Economic references do not represent financial projections or investment advice.
  • Direct exchange-to-L2 withdrawal. Once Mainnet launches, WhiteBIT users will withdraw WBT directly to Whitechain L2 from the exchange UI, with no third-party bridge in between. Availability is subject to applicable jurisdictional restrictions and exchange compliance terms.
  • European roots, global ecosystem. WhiteBIT is one of the largest centralized exchanges in Europe. Whitechain benefits from strong ecosystem synergy and brand recognition across the region, while operating as an open, global, and permissionless Layer 2 protocol.
For the detailed partnership offer, see For project partners. The Whitechain Foundation also runs the Builders Program: financial, marketing, and technical support released against delivery milestones. Grant distributions are strictly discretionary and subject to compliance approval and binding contractual terms.

Important ecosystem notice

Whitechain is an independent Layer 2 software protocol. WhiteBIT is a separate, centralized digital asset exchange platform operating under its own legal terms and compliance framework. Mention of WhiteBIT platform features, WBT utility, or potential exchange integrations within this documentation serves technical reference purposes only. It does not imply joint corporate liability, legal agency, or partnership obligations between Whitechain protocol maintainers and the WhiteBIT exchange operator.
